Art is my passion as a teacher and as an individual. I love creating so much, that I founded a candle business with my brother called, KIN Candle Co. Our candles are made with the smoothest clean-burning coconut wax and are paraben and phthalate free. We hand-blend the finest fragrances into unique scents inspired by growing up in coastal California. Our candles evoke carefree memories of sun-filled days at the beach, road trips north to coastal forests, and the sights and scents of the wild front yard gardens of LA’s diverse neighborhoods. Textures and Touch
Experimental photography series exploring texture, human-made and natural life. This photos are taken using a handheld scanner and are then manipulated in photoshop.
Seen
“Seen” is a continuing body of work that explores the identities of LGBTQ+ individuals. This series captures portraits of queer folk using experimental photography. While sitting for the portraits, the artist has a discussion with each participant about his/her/their experience navigating identity. The conversations range from stories of coming out, to struggles fitting in, and celebratory moments feeling comfortable in one’s own skin. The artist 'takes a photograph' of the participant's body using a hand-held scanner. Using the touch of the scanner to capture the portraits (instead of the sight of a camera lens) allows the participant to engage in a deeper sense of visibility– an act of reclaiming space and feeling seen. The scanner photographs present a performance of interpersonal communication, affirmation, and camaraderie.

This is a series of digital collages made using Adobe Photoshop. The series explores humans' relationship and place in the universe. Pairing people with galaxy-esque imagery invites the viewer in to interpret his/her own ephemeral existence. Each collage was then animated into a GIF, making some part of the image move.
